If youGÇÖre wondering why all the CPM1 post are popping, this is why
Quote:If you believe you'd also do a great job then I'd encourage you to run for the CPM1. The plan (currently) is for Elections to be held in the run up to Fanfest - subject to change, but more details to come. CCP Saberwing
This is a great announcement, unfortunately done in a bad location. But despite where it was placed this is still great News and MercGÇÖs should start ramping up if they plan to campaign.
If any wish to throw their hat in the ring, you are invited to do so on Podside & my new Dust 514 Podcast coming later in the month. Feel free to post here to claim a spot or just post some questions you would like asked of these candidates
Note: If a post is already up... Im sorry

CCP needs to have the final say on all candidates if you ask me, it's going to be FAR too easy to pick up popular people who just aren't good fits for the position. It seems like as a whole, CPM0 has been pretty successful, difficult to say specifically thanks to the nature of CPM and NDA's, but overall it seems like a success. Handing that decision over to this community...is....unsettling...
I Agree. This is something EVE has had a hard time with the CSM in the past and players buying votes to get in and then doing nothing with their chair

What makes a person a good fit for the position?
I know this is towards DUST Fiend, but I'll hop on to say any will run. But the good fits (or at lest what I will be looking at)will need to be active in the community, Can communicate with the community and CCP well and maybe be over 10mill in SP (Just to make sure they know the game).
ThatGÇÖs just in general and other aspects will come in how they have and will present themselves. Remember this is just what I will look for.

I'd honestly like to be on the cpm for this game, but from what I've seen the cpm doesn't accomplish anything anyway so I doubt it would be worth the frustration or my time.
as mentioned by many it seems like it's just way to gain insider information, which is honestly not what i'd want to be on the cpm for.
Wasn't it said that build 1.7 had the most CPM input in it and that they plan the same for 1.8?
It seems to me CCP is really take efforts to make sure the CPM both has a place and a purpose. From what I see they are doing more now then ever

Like "last time"? So youGÇÖre going to collect personal information about me in order to use as black mail and spread lies... Nice. You probably helped with that GÇ£last timeGÇ¥.
No hard feelings though Beers. If I think I should run, I will.

That said, you are still a scurb herder and opportunist in dust. No hard feelings though Zionshaddy.
Sorry Beers, but you said like last time... And thats what happen. It sounded like a threat. So if you don't have hard feelings, why come at me in the first place?
You know what it doesn't matter. Would like to talk it through with you and be friends. Holding things on people that happen almost a year ago isn't right and I do think people can change.

I-Shayz-I wrote:I'd love to be a part of the CPM just because I'm not biased towards one thing or another. I'm also not aligned to any certain corp or group, leaving me very neutral. Instead, I usually rely on facts to form any opinions I might have about the game or issues.
If you've seen my videos, I want to help the community, not hurt it. I fully support Dust and will do so for many years to come. I am very active in-game and on the forums, always looking for chances to help other players, or to explain things that have been brought up by the DEVs. _______________________________________
The things I'd like to push towards:
-Better NPE (new player experience) Obviously with the new tutorials, CCP is already trying to make steps towards this. I would like to see a much wider range of options for players to choose from in the beginning (especially with all 4 racial rifles now) instead of just militia ARs, snipers, and swarm launchers. The starting fits need to showcase medium, light, and heavy frames, along with each type of equipment (seriously, I never knew about the repair tool until I had played the game for 3 months).
On top of that, having a new way to progress in skills would be the logical next step. Having "pre-fit" dropsuits that you can buy in the market for isk, along with a skill list that tells you how much sp you need in order to unlock each skill required for that fitting, and how much sp you need total for the fitting. I don't know how similar this is to the certificate system in EVE, but something like this would be very helpful.
-Proper bonuses for suits/roles to define them better. They've already stated that they were working on new logistics bonuses to better differentiate them from assault suits, but I feel there needs to be a complete rework just like they did with tanks. There are just some bonuses that don't make much sense currently, like the reduction in weapon feedback for sentinels, or the melee bonus for minmatar scouts.
The Amarr Assault bonuses are a great example of what I'd like to see more of. The assault bonus gives faster shield regeneration as a passive bonus to the suit, whereas the Amarr bonus reduces the heat buildup of laser weapons, a bonus that applies to something EQUIPPED to the suit. Minmatar Logistics on the other hand gets two passive bonuses to the suit...armor regeneration and a hacking bonus. While I do like the extra hacking speed, a bonus to the minmatar repair tool would be much better as a logistics bonus. OR we could have more options like "suit proficiency" that would further allow us to increase our suit's capabilities, giving us a way to keep that extra passive bonus in there.
Liked your first post man. You did'nt need to spam it again though. LOL You prob didn't mean to

Free Beers wrote: So let me clear up the joke/sarcasim since you seem to have missed it
I post a thread to bash ccp because ccp gave you credit for what kane was doing it with OB events. It's had nothing to do with you until you scrubby minions came in and defended you (which caused the thread to be about you). Turned into a threadnaught, then you posted your intentions to run for csm. Which made you look bad blah blah blah you pulled out of race.
So the joke, incase you missed is was I actually did nothing. I hate when i have to explain stuff like this is ruins the joke.
I did miss the joke here because the situation you're talking about isn't the reason for my drop of a EVE CSM run, so I didn't even think of it. Part of the reason was for what I stated and the other was that I was invited to partake in CPM0 in which I didn't bother with the interview. Also make's no since to continue to run for the one if asked to run for the other.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and don't think I have anything like that to worry about.

I believe the current cpm is full of carebears who have never shown up in molden heath to fight me. if we want dust514 to be a hardcore game, we need to make it fun for hardcore gamers.
Let me know if you make an official post in The CouncilGÇÖs Chamber

It's tough to commit the time, energy, and care for the "community" while maintaining a life, playing DUST, and not being paid for your efforts; all while having to deal with well thought out posts like the above quote. Nevermind the senseless hate you automatically attract because people feel the need to force their opinions on others, and automatically assume their opinion is fact.
It's reasons like this to why I opened a Gaming Community Company. I wanted to help all those who put their personal time and effort in running things like corps for other players or participating in programs like the CPM to gain something in return.
I always believed that even though some players may not travel to tourneys, have the ability to stream or go "PRO" shouldn't mean they couldn't gain a sponsor for there work

I understand those jumping in with out much of a community name doing so. My advise to those is do more then just post I'm running and contribute to the community in someway outside of just stating what you'll do later on if picked.
If any of you need help in that, I always have work for you to do

I have a bad feeling about this.
That's why I invite all who are FOR REAL running to come on the Podcast with me in order to help players get to know them and to feel them out as a good fit for CPM or not.
Even get out and Blog your point of views. You can jump on our site and blog away like now, then link it to your sig at the bottom to give players a place to see what you are about. Also interact with other player posts on the forum and give your input. You may even want to collect some links of that input and compile it somewhere for players to look at
